  Rev. Phillip Wray McClure Sr., born Dec. 11, 1939 to Brantferd and Marjorie (Jackson) McClure, left his earthly journey on Friday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2024 while a patient at Clinton Place Nursing Home. His loving and beloved wife, Vida (Guill), along with other members of his immediate family, were at his bedside.
  He left behind his daughter, Janet Hopkins (Fla.); son, Phillip Jr. (Clinton); granddaughters, Robyn Vick (Clinton) and Jennifer Hopkins (St. Petersburg, Fla.); great-grandchildren Camden Hopkins (Fla), Logan Vick (Clinton/Fancy Farm) and Aurora Morgan (Fla.).
 Phillip enjoyed life with his 11 siblings: Richard (deceased), Bennette Atwill (Clinton), Butch (Mayfield), Shelia Oliver (Mayfield), Lou Ella Roberts (deceased), Jimmy (Hickman County), Junior (Hickman County), Ronnie (North Carolina), Billy (Texas), Nancy Ballard (Fancy Farm); and Lonnie Joe (Hickman County). From a large family, he also leaves numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
  Phillip served the Lord, church and community in many ways, He served as US Navy Chaplain in Vietnam and other posts. He has also served as hospital chaplain, served on Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, as well as executive director of the Hickman County Senior Center.
  With degrees from Murray State and Memphis Theological Summary, Phillip served as pastor to several local United Methodist churches including Concord in Paducah, Hickman First UMC, Raleigh UMC in Memphis, Tenn., Troy UMC and many others. He also pastored in the Virginia Conference. Phillip retired in 2004 and built a home in the Fulgham Community.
 Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 2-8 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Clinton First United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Clinton First UMC. Burial will be at a later date as Phillip wished to donate his body to Genesis Education Research Center in Memphis, continuing in his services to his community.
