Twin Cities parade, Christmas in Parks event this Saturday
December 01, 2024
Fulton Tourism Commission will coordinate a day and night of Christmas magic, Dec. 7 in the Twin Cities of Fulton, Ky. and South Fulton, Tenn., with “Twin Cities Christmas in the Park”.
Merchants will offer a great opportunity to start or finish every Christmas list, and Santa will be on hand at Ventures Village on Walnut Street, beginning at 10:30 a.m. to visit with all ages.
Christmas music will fill the air, as carolers gather in the downtown Fulton area at 10:45 a.m., then sing their way to Ventures Village by 11:15 a.m. While there, they will provide a number of holiday selections for shoppers and visitors.
Line up will begin at 4 p.m. for the annual Christmas Parade, which starts at 5:30 p.m., with this year’s theme set as “Candyland.” Line up will take place at the same location as the Banana Festival parade, on Smith Street, and then begin the parade route down Broadway in South Fulton, cross over onto Commercial Avenue and then Lake Street in Fulton.
The carolers will return for more holiday selections in songs beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the official lighting of the community Christmas Tree at the Pontotoc Park fountain will take place at 7 p.m., immediately followed by a Christmas fireworks display.
Inside the Pontotoc Park community center, the Twin Cities Men’s Organization chili supper fundraiser will be underway, and Santa will stay around for visits.
