AREA OBITUARIES – Lula Mae Porter

Lula Mae Porter, age 75, of Hickman, Ky., passed away on Thurs., March 19, 2026, at her daughter’s residence.
She was born on April 9, 1950, in Hickman, Ky., to the late Leroy Hamil and Stella Rothman Hamil.
She was a member of David’s Chapel and worked as a self-employed hairdresser for many years. She was a lifelong resident of the Hickman area.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa (David) Bowling, of Hickman, Ky., and Kim (B.J.) McBride; four grandchildren, Shelby Qualls of Meridianville, Ala., Madison Morris, of Clinton, Ky., Brianna McBride, of Union City, Tenn., and Kailyn McBride, of Union City, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Kinsleigh Harris; one sister, Ruth Busby, of Hickman, Ky.; and one brother, Ray Hamil of Newbern, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Wayne Porter; a grandson, Austin Harris; and 11 siblings.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sun., March 22, 2026 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman with burial to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 5 - 8 p.m. Sat., March 21.
