AREA OBITUARIES – Dorothy Snow Mullins

Dorothy Snow Mullins passed away peacefully on Sept. 3, 2026, at Van Ayer Nursing Home in Martin, Tenn. She was 96 years old.
Dorothy was born in Grundy, Va., to Robert Lee Snow and Bessie Ann Childers Snow on Jan. 21, 1930. She married Hubert Earl Mullins on Jan. 2, 1947. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2011.
Dorothy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Fulton, Ky., and lived most of her life in this area.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she spent many happy days surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly known as Mom, Grandmother, and Granny.
Dorothy retired from AT&T after a 20-year career. She began as a switchboard operator in Fulton, Ky., and later worked in the distribution and cabling department in Madisonville, Ky. She was an avid bridge player and, even after becoming homebound, spent many hours online enjoying her favorite hobby.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Mullins Nelms, of South Fulton, Tenn.; her son, Joel Douglas (Lisa) Mullins, of Henderson, Ky.; four grandchildren, Stephen Douglas (Audra) Kyle, of Paducah, Ky., Kimberly Ann (Brian) Melton, of Jackson, Tennn., Brian Douglas (Amy) Mullins, of Evansville, Ind., and Joel Scott (Jamie) Mullins, of Newburgh, Ind.; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Glenn Snow, and sister-in-law, Linda Snow, of South Fulton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas R. Nelms.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Kyle, Michael Snow, Brian Mullins, Jamey Snow, Scott Mullins, Seth Jones, Christian Melton and Ben Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Melton, Dan Gardner, Brandon Snow, Clayton Mullins and Hollis Mullins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Mon., Sept. 7, 2026 at Hornbeak Funeral with burial to follow in the Little Obion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of service.
