AREA OBITUARIES – Mintha Gwin

Mintha Gwin, age 75, and a resident of Dresden, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Fri., Sept. 25, 2026, at Van Ayer Nursing Home in Martin, Tenn., surrounded by daughters and Van Ayer Family.
She was born on April 2, 1951, in Detroit, Mich., to the late L.C. Crocker and Virginia Mae Anderson Crocker.
Mintha was a devoted lifelong Catholic and an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman, Ky. She owned and operated a cleaning business and retired from the former Reelfoot Packing Company in Union City, Tenn.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Moss, of South Fulton, Tenn., Angela (Matt) Jones, of Dresden, and Tammie Ford of Danville, Va.; six grandchildren, Anna (Patrick) O’Connor, of Bartlett, Tenn., Allie (Fabrico) Duarte, of Stanwood, Wash., Michael Jones, of Dresden, Dalton (Brittany) Ford, of Danville, Va., Robert Moss Jr., of South Fulton, and Lukas Moss, of South Fulton; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Wayne Gwin; and two siblings, Virginia Lewis King, and Lawrence Crocker.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 
Murphy Funeral Home, in Martin, Tenn., is in charge of arrangement.
