Historic Meadows Hotel changes hands, remains locally owned
October 13, 2026
The Meadows Hotel, a cherished local landmark whose property is celebrating its 125th anniversary of economic impact in the Twin Cities, is pleased to announce a change in ownership.
Local business owner and philanthropist Paige Dennis has acquired the historic hotel and restaurant from longtime owner Jeff Campbell, marking an exciting new chapter while ensuring the property remains in local hands.
Originally established by W.W. Meadows, the property has been a cornerstone of the Twin Cities community for generations. Campbell acquired The Meadows nine years ago and undertook an extensive effort to restore and revitalize the historic landmark.
Under his leadership, the property expanded to occupy an entire block and became what many consider a crown jewel of the Twin Cities.
As The Meadows continues to thrive, Campbell has decided to retire from the business. Finding a new owner who shared his commitment to the community and the property’s legacy was an important part of that decision.
“It was incredibly important to me that The Meadows remain in local hands and that the next owner understand what this property means to the community. Paige shares that commitment to taking care of people, investing in the community and honoring the legacy of a special place,” Campbell said.
Dennis brings deep community ties, extensive business experience and a longstanding commitment to public service, as she owns Joanns of Tennessee, a nationally recognized formalwear destination located directly across the street from The Meadows. The store attracts customers from across the country and beyond, contributing to the economic vitality and national visibility of South Fulton and the broader Twin Cities community.
With Joanns formally located in Tennessee and The Meadows in Kentucky, Dennis’s acquisition further strengthens the connection between the neighboring communities.
Beyond her business endeavors, Dennis has a distinguished record of public service and civic leadership at both the state and federal levels. She serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance, where she previously served as chair. The state board oversees compliance with Tennessee’s campaign finance and disclosure laws.
At the federal level, Dennis serves on the United States Election Assistance Commission as an appointee of Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett. The Commission is an independent, bipartisan federal agency established by Congress to support secure, accurate and accessible elections nationwide.
Dennis participates in the review of national voting system guidelines, election administration practices and recommendations designed to strengthen the integrity, security and effectiveness of elections across the country. Dennis also serves on the Board of Directors of Discovery Park of America, reflecting her commitment to education, cultural enrichment and regional economic development. Her leadership across business, government and nonprofit organizations underscores a longstanding dedication to public service and the communities she serves.
“This acquisition presents a meaningful opportunity to expand the impact of the Twin Cities while further strengthening my longstanding commitment to a community with which I share a deep personal connection. Through Joanns of Tennessee, I’ve had the privilege of welcoming people from across the country and around the world to our community. I look forward to bringing that same commitment to hospitality and personal service to The Meadows while preserving everything that makes it so special,” Dennis said.
Dennis emphasized that there are currently no plans to change the existing operations of The Meadows Hotel or restaurant. Guests can expect business as usual, with the existing team, traditions and commitment to hospitality continuing under her ownership. The transition honors the remarkable past of The Meadows while looking toward a promising future.
From its founding by W.W. Meadows through Campbell’s restoration and now Dennis’s leadership, The Meadows remains a treasured Twin Cities landmark, locally owned and deeply rooted in the community.
