Fulton County Schools Cross Country season underway
Fulton County Schools Cross Country teams participated in the Calloway County Invitational Sept. 3.
“We didn’t have anyone to medal as they are building teams this year. Everyone improved on last week’s times, and we had several new runners today,” Kelly Sipes, Assistant Cross Country Coach said.
In the Elementary Girls 1-mile run, Ellie Belt of Hopkinsville won with a time of 7:20.3, out of a field of 70 runners.
Participating from Fulton County included Abbigail Roebuck, 33rd place, 9:24.0; Emalyn Griffiths, 39th, 9:46.7; and Madison Parks, 68th, 16:43.8.
The Elementary Boys 1-mile run was won by Ben Hensley of Heritage Christian Academy with a time of 6:31.1 from a field of 100 runners.
Times for runners from Fulton County were Vicent Webber, 54th place, 8:52.3; Alex Rudy, 76th, 9:45.4; Will Rudy, 83rd, 10:20.9; and Rivers Parks, 84th, 10:22.1.
Gabby Ault of St. Mary won the High School Girls Varsity 5K, with a time of 20:28.1, in a field of 65 runners.
Fulton County runner’s times were Hannah Varden, 44th, 29:30.0; Kenzie Currey, 51st, 31:58.3; and Cara Capps, 52nd, 32:34.3.
Calloway County’s Daniel Puckett won the High School Boys Varsity 5K from a field of 105 runners with a time of 16:42.5.
Competitors from Fulton County included John Rey Major, 56th, 22:30.9; Schaeffer Sipes, 68th, 23:35.2; Damon Schmidt, 90th, 27:29.6; Collin DeHart, 100th, 30:39.3; and Tyler Jackson, 105th, 39:36.0.
