South Fulton Middle School Academic Team participates in county competition

Obion County Schools recently held its Annual Middle School Academic Bowl on Fri., May 9 at Obion County Central High School.
Teams and coaches have been preparing all year for a shot at the coveted championship trophy. Last year’s champions, Black Oak, fought hard to defend their title—but after seven intense rounds, it all came down to a final face-off between Black Oak and Lake Road.
Congratulations to Lake Road, who came out on top and earned the honor of being this year’s Academic Bowl Champions.
Participating schools and their coaches: Black Oak – Lana Davis; Hillcrest – Laura Robinson, Chanda Peal, and Ryan McMackin; Ridgemont – Denise Davidson and Kelli Wisener; Lake Road – Jennifer Robertson and Jason Pate; South Fulton Middle School – Brittany Walsh.
Dedicated librarians who helped plan and coordinate the event included Black Oak – Jolinda Gurien; Hillcrest – Amanda Bailey; Lake Road – Tarrah Reed; OCCHS – Lanna Stephens; Ridgemont – Amanda Jimerson; South Fulton Elementary – Kristy Vincent; and South Fulton Middle/High School – Brandi Cantrell.
Narrator was Dr. Greg Barclay, Judge was Adam Stephens, Event Planning was facilitated by Sandy Simpson and George Leake, Technology Support was provided by Obion County Schools Tech Team, and Media & Design, Lauren Kendall.
